AceShowbiz - Lady Gaga has announced the release of a new album titled "Harlequin," set to drop on September 27. The album will be a companion to Todd Phillips' upcoming "Joker: Folie a Deux," in which Gaga plays Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn.
The 13-track album includes reimagined versions of classic songs such as "Good Morning," "Get Happy (2024)," "Oh, When the Saints," and "Smile." New material like "The Joker," "Folie a Deux," and "Happy Mistake" is also expected to be featured.
Gaga has previously hinted at a Harley Quinn-inspired project on her social media, posting cryptic messages such as "I'm ready for my interview" and "Moondust gets everywhere." She had also teased the release of her seventh studio album, "LG7", with the first single set to drop in October. "Harlequin" appears to be separate from this upcoming album.
"Joker: Folie à Deux," starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, is set for an October 4 theatrical release. It is classified as a DC Elseworlds production, existing outside of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe.
Gaga's previous musical contributions to films have earned her critical acclaim, including an Oscar win for "Shallow" from "A Star is Born" and nominations for "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Til It Happens to You" from "The Hunting Ground."
Despite mixed reviews at its Venice film festival premiere, "Joker: Folie à Deux" has generated buzz as a musical sequel to the highly successful 2019 "Joker," which won two Oscars and grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
The tracks on Gaga's "Harlequin" album include:
- "Good Morning"
- "Get Happy (2024)"
- "Oh, When the Saints"
- "World on a String"
- "If My Friends Could See Me Now"
- "That's Entertainment"
- "Smile"
- "The Joker"
- "Folie à Deux"
- "Gonna Build a Mountain"
- "Close to You"
- "Happy Mistake"
- "That's Life"
