AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus apparently is facing a legal problem over her successful single titled "FLowers". The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker has been accused of "intentionally copying" Bruno Mars' song "When I Was Your Man" in a new lawsuit.

On Monday, September 16, TMZ reported that the 31-year-old songstress had been slapped with a lawsuit filed by Tempo Music Investments. The company claimed that "it owns a share of the copyright for [the] Bruno's song."

According to the media outlet, Miley "is being sued for copyright infringement." In the court documents, which were obtained by the outlet, Tempo Music alleges that "there are so many musical similarities between Miley's 'Flowers' and Bruno's 'When I Was Your Man' that it's obviously the result of Miley 'intentionally copying' Bruno."

The company also claims that "the melody, harmony and chorus [on] 'Flowers' are substantially similar to the verse [on] 'When I Was Your Man'." It believes that "Miley's song copies the chord progressions and mirrors some of the lyrics too."

In the same legal docs, Tempo Music writes, "It is undeniable based on the combination and number of similarities between the two recordings that 'Flowers' would not exist without 'When I Was Your Man'." The company further insists that Miley would not win a Grammy Award for the song without Bruno's hit.

"Miley, her label and her producers all had access to 'When I Was Your Man'," per Tempo Music. The company reportedly goes after Miley "for money." Furthermore, it was said that it wants the songstress "to be barred from distributing or performing 'Flowers'." While the company is suing her, Bruno, who wrote the song with fellow songwriters, "is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit."

Miley launched "Flowers" on January 12, 2023. On the track, she sings, "I can buy myself flowers/ Write my name in the sand/ Talk to myself for hours/ Say things you don't understand/ I can take myself dancing/ And I can hold my own hand/ Yeah, I can love me better than you can."

In the meantime, Bruno dropped "When I Was Your Man" back in 2012. He sings on the song, "That I should've bought you flowers/ And held your hand/ Shoulda gave you all my hours/ When I had the chance/ Take you to every party/ 'Cause all you wanted to do was dance/ Now my baby's dancin'/ But she's dancin' with another man."
