AceShowbiz - Chase Sui Wonders is set to join the cast of the upcoming reboot of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" from Sony Pictures, sources tell Deadline. The "Bodies Bodies Bodies" actress is in final negotiations to join previously announced stars Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Hauer-King.

Wonders replaces "Riverdale" actress Camila Mendes, who had to vacate the project due to scheduling conflicts with the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" Mattel movie at Amazon MGM Studios.

The Culver City lot is also in talks with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. to reprise their roles from the original 1997 movie and 1998 sequel, which grossed north of $165M combined. The third movie, "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer" starring Brooke Nevin, went direct to home.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is directing from a script by Jeff Howard, Sam Lansky and Lois Duncan. Neal Moritz is producing.

Wonders, who is a Detroit native, is well known for her roles on the HBO series "Generation", Sofia Coppola's "On the Rocks" and the AppleTV Plus series "City on Fire". "Bodies Bodies Bodies", which also starred Pete Davidson and Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova, made its world premiere at SXSW 2022 and went on to gross close to $14M.
