AceShowbiz - Matt Lauer's daughter Romy was involved in a hit-and-run accident in the Hamptons over July Fourth weekend, leaving her license plate behind and facing charges.
Matt Lauer's daughter, Romy, crashed her car into a fence and a sign in the Hamptons over July Fourth weekend. The 20-year-old college student left her license plate at the scene, allowing Southampton Town police to identify her.
Romy has been issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident. High-profile attorney Edward Burke Jr. is representing her in the case.
According to reports, Romy fled the scene around 4 A.M. on July 5 after a neighbor heard a loud noise and called 911. When police arrived, they found a downed fence and sign, but the driver was nowhere to be seen.
On the night of July Fourth, Romy posted a TikTok video of herself and two friends dining at a sushi restaurant. The video included the caption, "God bless our troops, God bless America and gentleman, start your engines!"
Romy is the daughter of Matt Lauer and his ex-wife, model Annette Roque. She is an avid equestrian and has competed in the Hampton Classic. Her parents divorced in 2017 after allegations of sexual misconduct against Matt Lauer surfaced.
