The 'Dancing with the Stars' co-host opens up about the sudden and tragic death of her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in 2019, while navigating personal turmoil and launching a new business.

AceShowbiz - In an emotional interview on "The Jamie Kern Lima Show", Julianne Hough, 36, revealed the devastating circumstances surrounding the death of her beloved dogs, Lexi and Harley.

After eight and eleven years of companionship, Lexi and Harley were killed by coyotes in Hough's backyard. She recounted the moment she learned of their loss, receiving a frantic call before her phone even rang. Despite having a fenced yard with no history of coyotes, the incident shocked and deeply saddened her.

The loss came at a challenging time for Hough, who was going through a separation from her husband, Brooks Laich, and launching her new company, Kinrgy. Reflecting on the experience, she felt a profound sense of isolation and vulnerability.

"My dogs represented unconditional love and safety," Hough said, "gone."

However, amidst the grief, Hough found solace in knowing that Lexi and Harley had passed together, and that she had been able to retrieve their bodies. "I'm grateful that they went together," she expressed. "And that it was relatively quick."

Despite the passage of time, Hough still feels the pain of her dogs' loss deeply. "They were the most consistent and constant beings in my life," she shared.

As a silver lining, Hough has since welcomed a new dog into her life, Sunny. She believes Lexi and Harley sent Sunny to her as a reminder to open her heart and love again.
