Bristowe explained that she wanted to give the ex-girlfriend a "heads up" about her date with Zac Clark. However, the call took a turn when the ex-girlfriend called Bristowe "very upset." According to Bristowe, the woman said, "I always knew you were a bad person, and you've confirmed it."
Bristowe defended her actions, saying she didn't think the ex-girlfriend would be upset. However, she apologized for the hurt she caused.
