AceShowbiz - Katie Holmes appeared to be talking over the phone with Suri Cruise. The actress portraying Joey Potter on "Dawson's Creek" looked joyful during a phone call as her daughter, whom she shares with actor Tom Cruise, started her classes in college.

On Monday, August 26, the 45-year-old actress stepped out in Brooklyn, New York. In a series of pictures that made their rounds online, it could be seen that she was on a solo stroll around the borough of New York City.

Katie was caught on camera walking on the side of a street while talking over the phone. She was holding her smartphone in one of her hands and placed it on her ear. Looking excited, she flashed her radiant big smile. At one point, she apparently was explaining something along with her hand gesture to the person on the phone.

For the relaxing walk, Katie looked chic in a casual outfit. She donned a pink-and-orange top underneath a long-sleeved white shirt, which came with small black stripes all over it and a V-neck design. She also donned a pair of loose black pants, which were long enough to reach her ankles.

To match the trousers, "The Secret: Dare to Dream" actress sported a pair of matching leather shoes that had short heels. She covered her eyes with a pair of brown sunglasses and accessorized herself with a black bracelet. Keeping her belongings in a white-and-orange tote bag, she let loose her long brown hair, which appeared to be wet.

The new sighting came after Katie helped Suri move into her dorm before she started college. Earlier in August, Katie and Suri were seen arriving at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while carrying a huge bag and two suitcases.

In the meantime, Suri's actor father Tom was notably absent in helping her move in. At that time, he was photographed landing a helicopter at London Battersea Heliport, seemingly filming his new "Mission: Impossible" movie.
