According to Dean's former wife Mary Jo Eustace, the actress and the Canadian actor have been creating 'a very constructed storyline that they control' for two decades.

AceShowbiz - Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott allegedly have been constructing a storyline about their love life for two decades. The actress and the Canadian actor have been accused of making "blatant lies" about their relationship.
On Sunday, August 25, the 57-year-old Canadian actor's former wife Mary Jo Eustace went public with her accusation regarding his and Tori's relationship. Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she said, "I don't get irritated [by questions about her ex-husband's love life], but I wonder why people find it so fascinating."
Mary went on to spill, "I think it's a very constructed storyline that they control and arc and all that stuff that has nothing to do with reality." She stressed, "Absolutely zero to do with reality. And I find it, and I can say this for my son and my daughter, embarrassing. I find it really, really embarrassing."
"And they're not called to task on blatant lies about their relationship, which has always been frustrating because we've been participating in this for two decades, believe it or not," she continued. "And the lies that keep getting repeated and done are very harmful to other people. So it's just like this tacky circus that won't go away. It keeps going on and on and on. And we're pulled into it."
Mary explained, "And to a certain extent, we laugh about it. But at the same time, it really does affect people's lives. And it is a completely false narrative. There is no truth in it." She added, "So to keep coming up with that is like, it's a pathology, right? It's very odd to want to put yourself out in such a degrading way constantly."
About Dean and Tori putting their children in the public eye, Mary stated, "I don't understand why you would keep putting your children out to that type of exposure. It seems narcissistic. It seems bizarre to keep doing that. Wouldn't you want to protect your children and keep them private and not having them on parade? Like that's the biggest tragedy around the train wreck."
Mary was married to Dean from 1993 to 2006. Following the divorce, it did not take long for him to move on. He tied the knot with Tori in 2006 before ending their marriage earlier this year. While the actor shares one son with Mary, he has five children with Tori. He also takes care of Lola Eustace, whom Mary adopted at the time of her and Dean's 2005 split.
