AceShowbiz - Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band will never embark on a farewell tour, the legendary rocker has declared. Addressing a packed stadium in Philadelphia during a recent show, Springsteen said, "We've been around 50 f***in' years. And we ain't quitting."
While the trend of farewell tours has turned into a seemingly inevitable pathway for many aging rock bands like KISS and even solo acts such as Elton John, Bruce Springsteen presents a defiant exception. His disdain for the "farewell tour" concept aligns with his career-long image as a relentless performer who thrives off the electrifying connection with his audience.
"We ain't doing no farewell tour bulls***!" the 74-year-old musician exclaimed. "Farewell to what? Thousands of people screaming your name? I'm gonna quit that? That's all it takes. I ain't going anywhere."
Despite the singer's peptic ulcer forcing the band to postpone a previous show last year, they made up for lost time with three-hour sets on Wednesday and Friday. The concerts were packed with surprises.
