Zoe Kravitz reflects on her decision to live with her rockstar father, Lenny Kravitz, following her parents' divorce, expressing regret over not fully appreciating her mother's upbringing.

AceShowbiz - Zoe Kravitz has shared her regrets over choosing to live with her father, Lenny Kravitz, after her parents' divorce when she was 11 years old. In an interview, "The Batman" star revealed that she now understands the importance of the upbringing her mother, Lisa Bonet, provided her.

"I just wish I had been able to appreciate what she was doing for me," Kravitz said when speaking to Esquire. "She was so focused on preserving my innocence, my creativity. Because she knew what the world is - that you don't get that back."

Kravitz had initially moved to Miami to live with her father, a decision she now considers "very hurtful." She recalled that Lenny, while a loving parent, prioritized different things than Bonet. "It wasn't that my dad didn't care," she explained. "He just cared about different things."

Despite the challenges she faced while living with her father, Kravitz noted the freedom she experienced. However, she realized that the novelty of this freedom eventually wore off. "Just like it happens in the movies, it's like, 'Oh, you think this is perfect? You think this is great? Guess what comes with this,' " she said.

Kravitz ultimately moved to New York City with her father, where she felt a greater sense of safety and belonging. She acknowledged that her choice to live with him was driven by the perception that he offered a more glamorous lifestyle, but she came to realize that her mother's quiet environment was in her best interests.

Despite her regrets, Kravitz maintains a close relationship with both her parents. She has praised their co-parenting skills, noting that they were able to put their daughter's well-being first. "We did it as a family, with love," Lenny Kravitz said.
