AceShowbiz - Javaughn Young-White, the ex-partner of musician Kehlani, has apologized for "hurtful" allegations made against her in a recent custody petition. On August 9, Young-White issued a statement on Instagram, claiming that the documents filed in July seeking full custody of their 5-year-old daughter were submitted "without my approval" by his former legal representation.
"These documents contained general recollections from my initial consultation with my aforementioned rep," Young-White wrote. "They were filed with choice language I didn't okay. I regret they were included."
The initial filing had alleged that Kehlani was involved in a cult that controlled her actions and had left their daughter in the care of a priest accused of sexual abuse. Young-White now claims he was misinformed on these matters and apologizes for perpetuating the allegations.
"As a father, I could never have anticipated that such serious allegations would be so careless," he wrote. "I still believe my alarm was proportionate to the information I received from trusted parties. However, I deeply regret and apologize for any role I played in perpetuating these claims."
Kehlani has strongly denied the allegations, calling them "incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, and simply untrue." She stated that her sole driving forces in life are her child and her commitment to motherhood.
Young-White concluded his statement by expressing his intention to focus on the well-being of his daughter and advocate for her custody, "I am looking forward to continuing the advocacy of my child's wellbeing. There will be an amended filing soon which will illustrate my full range of concern."
