AceShowbiz - Cardi B has shared more details of her recent "freak accident" that almost made her lose her baby. Clapping back at those alleging that she exaggerated her situation, the femcee has revealed the extent of her injury that left her paralyzed for two days.
In a conversation on X Spaces on Thursday, August 8, the pregnant star said that she felt the pain almost immediately after she fell on the stairs. "I was going down the stairs and I slipped a little," she told her followers. "I practically fell, but I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding myself on the railing. My foot still slipped, and I kind of busted my ass."
Upon falling, the Grammy Award-winning artist said, "I felt a weird jerk, like a pop, and I couldn't get up really." After "screaming" for her dad, she said he ran over and "tried helping me get up and move out the steps," but added, "I noticed that I couldn't really walk, like I was feeling pain in my, I don't know, in the lower of my stomach."
Cardi noted she's carrying her soon-to-be baby "a little low," so she's used to feeling "a little pain" in that region and just decided to take a nap after the fall. However, she continued, "When I woke up, I couldn't move my bottom at all. Like, just moving my feet was hurting the bottom of my stomach. I couldn't move. I felt like paralyzed."
The "WAP" hitmaker said she started to panic, so she took an ambulance to the hospital where she "found out that I tore a ligament in my pelvis and it's right where my baby's head is at." She described her pain, "I dilated and I was having contractions for every two minutes for a whole 24 hours."
The soon-to-be mom of three continued, "So they had to monitor me and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't move for two days straight." The estranged wife of Offset said the doctors "sent me home," and they "not only put me on bed rest, but I got to do therapy."
"So stop playing with me. I'm not even a type of person to exaggerate anything," she said, seemingly aimed at those who criticized her for joking about asking for more morphine from the hospital. "You don't even know what the f**k is going on or what I'm going through."
Cardi previously took to the same platform to reveal her recent visit to the hospital. "I don't know how something - well, it wasn't little, it actually hurt... It doesn't really happen often, but it [had] become so big to the point I was literally paralyzed," she said earlier this week.
The 31-year-old said the pain was so unbearable that she needed substantial doses of morphine to manage it. She recounted her ordeal humorously, "Yesterday I was feeling good. I came home, but I came home high as a kite."
Cardi admitted she would whatever it takes to cope with the pain, joking, "Today, I woke up sober, honey. I'm dying. If I don't feel good in four hours, I'm going to the hospital and I don't give a f***. Ima exaggerate this s*** so I can get more morphine. Morphine me down! I don't give a damn."
Cardi is currently pregnant with her third child, whom she shares with her estranged husband Offset. She confirmed her pregnancy earlier this month, shortly after announcing that she has filed for divorce from the rapper.
