AceShowbiz - During a "Comics for Kamala" event on Monday, actor Ben Stiller made a bold and somewhat unexpected remark while expressing his support for Harris. After vowing to donate $150,000 to the campaign, Stiller praised Harris as a "historic" candidate and highlighted her diverse background.
Continuing his speech, Stiller addressed his own Jewish and Irish heritage, but expressed a somewhat unconventional wish. "I wish I was Black," he stated. "Every White Jewish guy wishes he was Black."
The comment drew laughter from host Paul Mercurio, who thanked Stiller for his "well put" remark. However, it also sparked reactions on social media, with some viewers finding humor in the statement while others questioned its appropriateness.
The "Comics for Kamala" event featured a star-studded lineup of comedians, including Whoopi Goldberg, Patton Oswalt, and Nick Offerman, all of whom were present to raise funds for Harris's campaign. Vice President Harris launched her presidential bid on July 21, following President Biden's withdrawal from the race. She has since chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
