AceShowbiz - Donald Trump has made his first public appearance since the assassination attempt. As he had announced before, the former president attended the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wis., on Monday, July 15.

Smiling, he walked into a roaring crowd as attendees sang along to "God Bless the USA". He wore a bandage on his right ear, where he was injured following the shooting on Saturday during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump pumped his fist before shaking hands with Senator JD Vance, who was revealed earlier that day as his running mate. The two politicians sat side-by-side during the convention as the former president appeared to have a more quiet, subdued demeanor.

While Trump's return to the spotlight just a few days following the assassination attempt was welcomed with thunderous applause by his supporters, he received pushback from social media users, who mostly mocked his bandage.

"The ear patch LMFAOOOO be FR Trump," one person reacted to Trump's appearance at the RNC. Another claimed, "Ain't no doctor do that bandaging." A third demanded, "Donnie take that pantyliner off your ear and stop playing everything a joke omg."

Someone alleged, "He wanna be a victim so bad," while a fifth quipped, "What in the Fisher Price Medical Kit s**t is this!?!?" Another person enthused, "Not a bag of coke on his ear."

Someone else weighed in on the bandage, "He definitely wore that big azz patch for dramatic purposes," while one other critic said, "Trump is looking for sympathy wearing that maxi pad on his ear."

Trump's bandaged ear aside, the RNC also featured Amber Rose, who delivered a passionate speech about the former president. "I'm here tonight to tell you, no matter your political background, that the best chance we have to give our babies a better life is to elect Donald Trump president of the United States," she said on stage as Trump watched from his seat.

"I'm no politician and I don't wanna be, but I do care about the truth, and the truth is that the media has lied to us about Donald Trump," the former reality TV star added. "I know this because for a long time, I believed those lies."

"My entire family is racially diverse. I believed the left-wing propaganda that Donald Trump was a racist. My father said, 'No, he's not, Amber. What were you talking about?' " Rose recalled, adding that she eventually watched "all the rallies" and started meeting so many of his "red hat-wearing supporters."

"People have to do their research," she urged, before adding, "I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don't care if you're black, white, gay or straight. It's all love. And that's when it hit me: These are my people. This is where I belong."

"I never felt more free and more love for my country than I do now," Rose declared. She then recalled meeting Trump and his wife Melania Trump for the first time, gushing about Trump, "He was kind and generous and funny as hell. Very funny."

Noting that "our country is in trouble," she said, "It wasn't like this under Donald Trump." Toward the end of her speech, she implored, "My message to you tonight comes from a humble place. The left told me to hate Trump and even worse, to hate the other side - the people who support him. When you cut through the lies, you realize the truth: American families were better when Donald Trump was president. We were safer, wealthier and stronger. A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to put money back in our pockets and good food on our kids' plates. Or as Trump would say, it's a vote to make America great again."
