AceShowbiz - Shannen Doherty was all smiles in her last public photos. The former star of "Beverly Hills, 90210" was pictured in high spirits while out and about with some of her friends prior to her death on Saturday, July 13.

In the snaps, she was seen joined by pal Chris Cortazzo and a female friend during an outing on June 16. The trio looked like they had a good time together as they walked out of Kristy’s waterfront restaurant in Malibu, California. Chris was even photographed wrapping his arm around the late actress.

For the outing, Shannen donned flared jeans and an oversized button-down T-Shirt. She completed her look with a black newsboy cap. She also carried a brown paper bag in her arms.

Shannen passed away at the age of 53 after a prolonged battle with breast cancer. "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress, Shannen Doherty," said her publicist, Leslie Sloane. "On Saturday, July 13th she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. She publicly speculated she had five years left to live after it metastasized to her lymph nodes, but she claimed that it was said to be in remission in April 2017.

However, later in February 2020, Shannen revealed the cancer had returned at stage 4. At the time, she told "Good Morning America", "It's going to come out in a matter of days or a week that I'm stage 4. So my cancer came back, and that's why I'm here. I don't think I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways."

The "Charmed" alum claimed that the cancer was then metastasized to her brain and to her bones. She is survived by her mother, Rosa Elizabeth Doherty, and her brother, Sean Doherty.
