AceShowbiz - Louise Thompson and her fiance Ryan Libbey faced a grueling period following Louise's traumatic childbirth in 2021. Louise endured 36 hours of labor before undergoing a C-section, losing her entire blood supply. This ordeal resulted in a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Ryan, who has spoken publicly about the impact on him for the first time, revealed that the family had regular medical staff in their home to monitor Louise's well-being. He said, "She was saying things like, 'I can't get through this, and I don't even want to.' "
Louise admitted that their relationship "completely fell apart" during this difficult time. "Trauma trickles through every single aspect of life," she said.
Despite the setbacks, the couple have embarked on a "new chapter." Louise underwent stoma surgery due to Ulcerative Colitis, adding to their challenges.
However, Louise and Ryan's bond has now strengthened. After delaying their wedding plans, they recently had a "big conversation" about getting married. "He explained he would feel like his life wouldn't be complete without it," Louise said.
Louise has also emphasized the need for open communication about mental health challenges. "If you are struggling with mental health, you can speak to a trained advisor from Mind mental health charity on 0300 123 3393 or email [email protected]," she advised.
Through adversity, Louise and Ryan's relationship has emerged stronger. They have demonstrated resilience and the importance of seeking support during times of crisis.
