AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck's close ones seemingly have a strong reason to be worried about him in this difficult time. Rumor has it that the actor/filmmaker has been at his "breaking point" amid his "tense" divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

"People close to Ben have been concerned about him for some time because of what he's gone through in the past couple of months," a source tells In Touch, noting that the 51-year-old actor and his estranged wife have been in the middle of "tense" negotiations with divorce lawyers.

"He's in a really dark place," the source adds. "And when he gets like this, they can't help but fear the worst." This reportedly explained Ben's recent outburst with paparazzi outside his and J.Lo's shared mansion. While it's not an excuse, another source says of the "Justice League" star, "It's not surprising he snapped. He's at his breaking point."

While Ben has been living in a rental home in Brentwood to keep his distance from J.Lo, his ex Jennifer Garner has been checking on him. "Jen always jumps into action when he gets this way," the source says of the "Alias" alum, who was married to Ben from 2005 until their divorce in 2018. "She's been visiting his house a lot to make sure he's OK, and that probably wouldn't have gone over well with J. Lo, even if they were living in separate wings."

"The funny thing is that when J. Lo announced her tour cancellation, she said she wanted to spend more time with her family, but she spends minimal time with them, and she truly doesn't seem bothered by what Ben is going through," the source goes on noting. "Ben, on the other hand, has been very focused on his kids."

Apparently, making the decision to end his marriage to J.Lo wasn't an easy decision for Ben as the source shares, "A lot of his second-guessing his marriage to J. Lo happened because he saw how much his divorce from Jen and the frenzy over his relationship with J. Lo affected his children."

Confirming that divorce between Ben and J.Lo is imminent, another source tells RadarOnline.com that the pair are "talking to lawyers." As they "sunk a fortune" into a joint business contract, the "Jenny from the Block" singer is said to be making strategic image decisions in an attempt to prove she's not "blowing money" on a "lavish lifestyle" as the couple dissolves brand contracts.

"Jennifer flying economy is her way of showing she's not blowing money on her lavish lifestyle," a so-called insider claims, as the site reports that J.Lo and Ben's once-lucrative brand could be near collapse.

"The majority of the plans depended on them going in together, so now there are contracts that need to be dissolved," the informant spills. "That's never easy and requires a ton of back-and-forth with lawyers because, of course, everyone wants to get paid."

Ben and J.Lo have also teamed up sports biopic "Unstoppable", which completed filming back in January. "Teaming up to promote it seems unlikely," the mole dishes. "They want to be professional about it. They still believe in it and don't want to see it fail, but it's an awkward position."
