AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift's recent meeting with Prince William's family may have dragged the pop icon into the royal war. Word on the street is the Grammy winner's photo op with the prince and his children has left a sour taste in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's mouth.

According to RadarOnline.com's source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are fuming over Taylor's encounter with William, George and Charlotte because the couple had been trying to approach her before. The Sussexes attended the singer's "Eras Tour" last August in California, but they weren't invited backstage to meet the Grammy winner or sit with her squad in the VIP section.

Moreover, the "Shake It Off" hitmaker reportedly turned down an offer from the former "Suits" star to appear on her podcast "Archetypes". "It's no secret Meghan went out of her way to try to build a relationship with Taylor and got nowhere, so it's hard for her and Harry not to see this as being a calculated way for William and the royals to undermine them further," the source explained.

"In their view it's patently obvious the royals - and William in particular - love to go after anything they come close to having," the informant spilled. "Meghan and Harry love Taylor's music," the source further confided, "They've made it very clear they would love some sort of relationship with her."

"But now that William's made another big public connection with Taylor, any moves they make are bound to get labeled as cheap copycat attempts," the source claimed. "Once again, they're feeling like the outsiders - and it hurts."

While Harry and Meghan are not mad that William took his children to the concert, the source noted, "It's the selfie that's set them off because it's just so out of the ordinary for the royals to publicize something like that. Even William's own fans have branded it as shade towards the Sussexes."

Meanwhile, Taylor has clearly left good impression on the British royal family. "Now that Taylor is very much on the royals' radar. It's not just Charlotte and George who love her. Everyone's raving about her and how talented and charming she is," the source shared. Spilling how the royal family may leverage their connection to TayTay, the source dished, "The word is she's going to be top of their list for any upcoming galas or events that involve celebrities."

Taylor took a picture backstage with William and two of his children during her concert in London in June. Sharing a birthday shout-out to the Prince of Wales, she posted on Instagram, "Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start 🇬🇧🇺🇸 @princeandprincessofwales."

The Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account shared another behind-the-scenes picture of the royal family with the superstar and captioned it, "Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour."
