The eteran NFL wide receiver and his family escape a life-threatening fire at their Nashville home, forcing them to evacuate with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

AceShowbiz - Veteran NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family experienced a harrowing event this week when a fire erupted at their residence in the Green Hills neighborhood of Nashville. According to reports, the fire began late on Tuesday, June 25, originating in the garage where a Tesla charger had caught fire. Swift action by the Nashville Fire Department ensured the safety of the family, though significant property damage occurred.

Cobb's wife Aiyda took to Instagram to recount the ordeal, stating, "We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet." The couple's social media posts included images and videos of the extensive damage, showcasing charred walls, ash-covered items and a vehicle with melted features.

The family expressed profound gratitude to the Nashville Fire Department. "We can't thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin, and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action," they wrote in a joint statement. Cobb highlighted a poignant moment, recalling a firefighter's bravery, "I can't get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head; he didn't even have water to shoot yet. I truly thought the cars were going to explode and that we would lose him to this tragedy. He is a true hero."

Despite the severe damage to their home and personal belongings, the Cobb family remains resilient, emphasizing the importance of health and safety above material possessions. "Unfortunately, we don't know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family," Cobb remarked. Currently, the family is staying with close friends in Nashville as they navigate the aftermath of the fire.

Randall Cobb, 33, is a free agent after spending the last NFL season with the New York Jets. A native of Tennessee, Cobb began his professional football career with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, following his college football days at the University of Kentucky. Over his 13-season career, Cobb has also played for the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, before rejoining the Packers in 2021 and moving to the Jets in 2023.

As the family embarks on the journey to rebuild, they remain grateful for the outpouring of support from their community and close friends. "We are grateful for our incredible community in Nashville, and the support from our close friends that have given us a temporary roof over our heads and shoulders to lean on," Cobb concluded.
