AceShowbiz - Actor Austin Butler recently disclosed that he auditioned for a significant role in the 2012 film "The Hunger Games". Butler expressed that his audition did not lead to a callback or further consideration. He recalled auditioning for the role of Peeta, which eventually went to Josh Hutcherson.
Butler held no ill will towards Hutcherson's performance, describing it as "great." Despite not landing the role, Butler's career has continued to flourish. He recently starred in the role of Elvis in Baz Luhrmann's biopic, for which he received an Oscar nomination.
Butler's audition for "The Hunger Games" occurred during a time when his career was on the rise. He had recently completed his stint on the series "Switched at Birth" and was set to appear on "The Carrie Diaries".
Since then, Butler's career has gained significant momentum. He portrayed Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" and starred in Apple TV+'s series "[t=Masters of the Air". He will soon be seen in the highly anticipated sequel "Dune: Part Two".
