Avery Sehorn, daughter of actress Angie Harmon and retired NFL star Jason Sehorn, faces serious charges just days after celebrating her high school graduation.

AceShowbiz - 18-year-old Avery Sehorn was arrested on June 6 for allegedly breaking into the World Nightclub in Charlotte, North Carolina, with two 17-year-old boys. The trio is accused of stealing six bottles of liquor worth $500. The incident took place on June 5 at around 11:30 p.m., and Avery was caught by police minutes after midnight.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Avery faces charges of felony breaking and entering and larceny. She was released from jail the next day after signing a written promise to appear at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse on June 28.

The nightclub owner recounted to local news outlet WCCB that Avery and her friends broke in through a back door, hid behind the bar, and attempted to steal the liquor. Their escape was cut short by cleaning staff, leading to their apprehension by police. The entire event was captured on security cameras, according to the club owner.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Angie Harmon's attorney, George V. Laughrun II, emphasized the family's respect for the judicial process, "Ms. Harmon respects and believes in the criminal justice system. She is looking forward to her daughter's day in court so that the real truth can be told from individuals who were eyewitnesses to the events." He encouraged the public to withhold judgment until all facts are revealed.

The news comes shortly after Avery's graduation on June 2, a celebration marked by family pride and social media posts from Angie Harmon. "We are all immensely proud of you, Avery! You have overcome & conquered & excelled to shine brightly with the stars!" Harmon wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of Avery in her cap and gown alongside her sisters Finley Faith and Emery Hope.

This isn't the first time the Harmon-Sehorn family has made headlines this year. In March, Angie Harmon's dog, Oliver, was tragically shot and killed by an Instacart delivery driver. The incident led to a lawsuit against the company and the driver for various claims, including negligence and invasion of privacy. Harmon described the pain of losing Oliver as "unfathomable" and has been vocal about the need for public awareness regarding such incidents.

As the Sehorn family braces for upcoming legal proceedings, they continue to seek support and understanding during this challenging time.
