The 1975 lead vocalist likes a tweet that suggests Swifties have been infected with narcissism for thinking he tried to send a subtle 'signal' to the Grammy winner with his recent Instagram post.

AceShowbiz - Matty Healy's life doesn't always circle around Taylor Swift. While he was famously linked to the pop superstar during their last summer's fling, The 1975 lead vocalist has dissed a fan of his ex for theorizing that he tried to send a subtle "signal" to the pop icon with his recent Instagram post.

The speculation began on Friday, June 7 when the English singer/songwriter posted Charli XCX's emotional new song "So I" about her late friend Sophia. On the song, Charlie sings about "always" having someone on your mind after "push[ing them] away."

Many Swifties shared their theory that Matty's song choice was related to Taylor, whom he briefly dated last year. One person posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, "are we reaching to think that this lyrics on HIS story could be a signal to Taylor??"

But another X user responded, "We need a new psychological term for a contemporary form of narcissism that is somehow not refracted internally onto the self but rather onto the object of a standom."

Matty apparently agreed with the second user's sentiment. When a screenshot of the reply was shared via Instagram, he liked the post.

Matty and Taylor, who have known each other since 2014, first sparked dating rumors in May 2023 following her split from Joe Alwyn. During their brief fling, the pair spent as much time as possible, with the rock star attending some of her "Eras Tour" shows and staying at her apartment.

Amid her fans' criticism of her relationship with Matty, their short-lived romance ended in June 2023 due to scheduling conflicts and their incompatibility. Matty has since moved on with model Gabbriette Bechtel, while Taylor has been happily in a relationship with Travis Kelce.

After Taylor released her latest album "The Tortured Poets Department", there has been speculation that some of the tracks are about Matty. While the theory has not been confirmed, a friend of the British musician said Matty found the album "hilarious." The friend told Us Weekly, "He loves the attention it's brought to him, [but] he also thinks it's hilarious because at no time [were they] ever serious."

However, Matty was "completely blindsided" by certain lyrics suggesting they had discussed serious topics such as marriage and children. "For her to be saying things about baby carriages … and living together - he says it had never even come up," the insider added.
