The 25-year-old professional boxer, who recently threatened to quit boxing, was taken into custody at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills on Saturday afternoon, June 8.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Garcia's lawyer has broken his silence in the wake of his client's arrest. In a statement, Darin Chavez revealed that the professional boxer was taken to the hospital after he was busted in Los Angeles.

"[Ryan] was taken by the BHPD to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment," the attorney said. "And to our knowledge, may be charged with public intoxication."

Ryan was taken into custody at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills on Saturday afternoon, June 8, according to TMZ. The arrest came after the staff called cops, telling them that the athlete damaged property at the hotel, including his room and the hallway.

The incident reportedly caused an estimated $15,000 in damage. The hotel decided to press charges upon police's arrival, but the specific nature of the damage and the 25-year-old's behavior remains to be seen.

Ryan was then booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department jail. However, he complained of a medical issue and was subsequently transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

Ryan's run-in with the law arrived just a few weeks after he threatened to quit boxing. He made the declaration after his B-sample collected for his fight against [c_Devin Haney came back positive for the banned substance Ostarine.

"Let's go we positive," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in a since-deleted post. "Positive vibes bruh. Yess so happy. I F**KING LOVE STEROIDS. I don't care I'll never make money again with boxing. Your loss not mine for setting me up lol joke's on y'all. I will swallow all steroids."

The post came after boxing writer Dan Rafael tweeted, "Ryan Garcia's B sample results were returned Thursday a.m., 1 day after being opened." He added, "I have the lab reports & the B samples, as expected, matched A samples – both are positive for the banned PED Ostarine related to VADA tests the day before & after Haney fight."
