AceShowbiz - The boxing match between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul is now set for Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Originally scheduled for July 20, the fight was postponed due to an ulcer flare-up that Tyson experienced during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.
Nakisa Bidarian, Co-Founder of Most Valuable Promotions, explained the decision to reschedule, "Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season."
Despite the health scare, Tyson remains confident. "While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out. On Friday, November 15, watch this in-person at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix," he said.
Additionally, the event promises more than just the headline bout. On the undercard for November 15 is Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, dubbed "the most anticipated rematch in women's boxing history" by Most Valuable Promotions.
Jake Paul, who boasts a 9-1 record with six knockouts, took to social media to express his readiness, posting, "New date, same place, same fate." Tyson, 57, who has not fought competitively since 2005, reassured fans, stating he will "resume training shortly."
Netflix will be streaming this fight globally, marking one of its major steps into live sports content. Previously purchased tickets for the July event will be honored for the new date, and refunds are available until July 8, for those unable to attend.
