AceShowbiz - Selma Blair, the 51-year-old actress known for her roles in movies like "Cruel Intentions" and "The Sweetest Thing", made a striking appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 5 for the opening night premiere of "Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge". Sporting a black one-shoulder split-thigh dress complemented by her service dog Scout, Blair celebrated the documentary that offers an "unprecedented look" into Von Furstenberg's storied life.
In a red carpet interview shared on Tribeca's Instagram Stories, Blair spoke about the women who have inspired her over the years, mentioning friends like Paulina Porizkova and icons such as Lauren Hutton and the Olsen twins. "I love anyone with staying power no matter what their style," she shared.
Blair was at the festival not just as an attendee but also as a juror for the 2024 Nora Ephron Award, which honors the spirit and vision of the legendary filmmaker and writer, Nora Ephron.
The premiere was a fashion extravaganza, with other stars like Karlie Kloss and Gayle King showcasing their chic ensembles. Kloss looked stunning in a strapless white pantsuit, while King opted for a blue floral off-the-shoulder dress. Diane Von Frrstenberg herself graced the event in a luxurious black and white satin pants set, highlighting her timeless elegance.
Blair's journey with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2018, has been well-publicized. She shared with PEOPLE in May 2022 about how Scout has significantly improved her mobility and independence. Scout, she explained, helps her manage muscle spasms and provides balance, giving her a greater sense of freedom. "He's with me all the time. It's given me a lot of independence," she revealed.
Scout also provides comfort to Blair's 12-year-old son, Arthur, who she shares with ex Jason Bleicka. Arthur finds solace knowing Scout is always by his mother's side, ensuring her safety and mobility.
