AceShowbiz - Sean Kingston couldn't be happier to have gotten back his freedom. The "Beautiful Girls" hitmaker declared in a statement that "it's great to be home" after he was released from jail on a $100,000 bond.
"It's great to be home!!! A special thanks to God, my family, my friends and my legal team," the 34-year-old penned on Instagram on Wednesday, June 5, adding the names of his attorneys. "And I cannot forget about my amazing fans, thank you for all your love and support! I love you guys!"
CBS Miami reported on Tuesday that Sean has been let out of prison after paying the aforementioned amount. "I don't know who is claiming they owe money," his lawyer Bob Rosenblatt said. "If there are other issues I'm not sure about … It's a breach of contract. There's no fraud here. There's no organized fraud at all."
Sean and his 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, were arrested on May 23. The singer was detained at Fort Irwin in California, while SWAT executed a raid on Turner's residence in Fort Lauderdale. The arrest warrants alleged that they stole jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, furniture and money, including $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Escalade dealer, and $86,000 from a custom bed manufacturer.
Prior to his arrest, Sean, born Kisean Paul Anderson, had been serving a two-year probation sentence for trafficking stolen property. Janice, who was detained on eight fraud and theft charges, has a history of legal issues, including a previous bank fraud conviction.
The ongoing issue pertains to a lawsuit filed against Sean earlier this year by a company called Ver Ver Entertainment LLC. They accused the R&B star of breach of contract and fraud after he purchased a large TV and sound system from them.
