AceShowbiz - Glen Powell's recent statement about "Hidden Figures" has annoyed the movie's editor. The "Anyone but You" star was slammed by Peter Teschner for saying he puked after watching the movie's rough cut.
Speaking to TMZ, Peter claimed that "there were several screenings of the historical drama during the editing process." However, he said they always had music in the film for screenings, including original songs by Pharrell Williams, as well as a temp score.
According to Peter, Glen likely freaked out about his performance because he doesn't recall a single instance where a screening was as rough as the actor described. Peter also denied Glen's claims saying that the effects made the film a lot better.
Peter insisted that Glen's rough cut scenes versus his final cut scenes weren't changed too much. He even acknowledged that Glen's performance in the flick, which was released 8 years ago, was great.
Glen made the "throw up" confession when appearing in the May 22 episode of "Therapuss with Jake Shane" podcast. The Texas native plays famous astronaut John Glenn in the 2016 historical drama.
"I remember watching Hidden Figures for the first time on the Fox lot ... and this was before all the effects were done, the music was in, the sound design," the 35-year-old Hollywood star recalled. "And I literally left the movie and I puked in the bushes."
Directed by Theodore Melfi, the movie also stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer as well as Janelle Monae. The three women respectively portray the real-life Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, three Black mathematicians who made a major impact at NASA during the Space Race in the 1960s.
