AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck continue putting on a united front amid split rumors. The pair have been spotted packing on the PDA, albeit far from being steamy, during their latest reunion in Santa Monica.
The couple, who has been said to have gone through a rough patch lately, stepped out with Ben's mother Chris on Sunday, June 2. At one point, they opted for air kisses over real smooches in public.
The singer/actress avoided pecks on the cheek and instead went with the classic air smack. Ben wrapped his hand around his wife and flashed a smile during the awkward PDA, before giving a thumbs up to the camera.
The pair later strolled arm-in-arm for a few seconds before letting go each other's hand. Most of the time, the married couple reportedly did not make any physical contact between them.
Earlier on the same day, J.Lo was photographed shopping at a flea market with her 16-year-old child Emme. Wearing the same black top and flared jeans that she donned during her reunion with Ben, she also put on a houndstooth blazer and aviator sunglasses.
The mother of two affectionately wrapped her arm around Emme's shoulder, putting her wedding ring on display. She also accessorized with a black Birkin bag while her long hair was let loose in a simple straight style and parted in the middle.
The mother-and-daughter duo appeared to have a fun conversation during the stroll. At one point, the two appeared to trade jokes as Emme smiled while her mother playfully frowned. The twosome was seen browsing through some jewelry before J.Lo walked away with two shopping bags in her hand.
Rumor has it that J.Lo and Ben's relationship has been strained not only because of their personal issues but also their professional decisions. The actor/filmmaker reportedly has been at odds with his wife's creative team, urging a complete career overhaul amid disappointing album sales and a critically panned Netflix film.
J.Lo's latest album "This Is Me… Now" disappointed with a No. 38 debut on the Billboard 200, while her Netflix project "Atlas" failed to impress the critics despite rising to No. 1 on the streaming service. Ben reportedly believes that the actress and singer is overcommitted with subpar projects and surrounded by "yes people," which he contends is detrimental to her career. This sentiment has allegedly caused significant friction behind the scenes.
The Oscar winner has been encouraging his wife to make more discerning choices regarding her professional workload. "Ben feels Jen needs to overhaul her career and have a better team behind her," an insider disclosed. "He has butted heads with some members for a while now and it's caused tension behind the scenes. He just wants what's best for her and feels she's doing a lot of mediocre projects."
Amid these career discussions, J.Lo announced the cancellation of her upcoming tour, claiming the need to spend more time with her family. The decision, however, fueled speculation about the state of their marriage. She expressed her distress over disappointing fans, stating, "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down."
Despite these public assertions, rumors persist that poor ticket sales and lackluster album performance were factors in the tour's cancellation.
