AceShowbiz - Eminem has announced that he will be releasing the lead single off his new album, "The Death of Slim Shady", very soon. Before launching the record, "The Real Slim Shady" rapper also revealed the release date of "Houdini".
On Tuesday, May 28, the 51-year-old hip-hop artist made use of his Instagram page to share the announcement. He uploaded a clip in which he was documented having a conversation with magician David Blaine over FaceTime Video about making his career disappear.
In the beginning of the short footage, it could be seen that Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers, is waiting for David to pick up the phone. David then greeted him, "Hey, what's going on, Marshall?"
Eminem said, "David! What's up, man? Yo listen, I need your help with something." In response, David stated, "Yeah whatever you need." Eminem replied, "Well first of all, I just wanna say you are the greatest to ever do it, right?" David responded, "We should do something together one time."
The spitter went on to explain, "So, what I was wondering is like, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do a stunt or something?" David asked, "You mean something like this?" before sipping his drink and eating a glass.
Eminem further revealed, "Well for my last trick, I'm gonna make my career disappear." Shocked, David questioned, "Wait, what?" Eminem ended the FaceTime video before elaborating his statement to David.
The footage additionally shows a message, which was written in a white color over a black screen, that read, " 'Houdini' 5.31.25." Along with the teaser, Eminem wrote in the caption of the post, "Please do not try this at home. Or anywhere else," adding a rabbit and magic hat emojis.
"Houdini" will be the lead single off his new record "The Death of Slim Shady", which he announced on April 24. For the set, he released a teaser video featuring himself, his longtime pal 50 Cent and a detective, who discussed a made-up crime scene where Slim Shady was murdered. Earlier in May, he made use of the Detroit Free Press newspaper to further tease the album with a Slim Shady obituary.
