The auto-tune icon responds to backlash after he's seen vibing to one of the tracks targeting Drake, insisting he was just enjoying music and not making any 'political statement.'

AceShowbiz - Even big stars aren't immune to fan wars, as T-Pain recently discovered. Dancing along to Kendrick Lamar's track "Not Like Us" stirred controversy, inadvertently pulling the auto-tune icon into the ongoing Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake feud.
T-Pain, who has been staying in Las Vegas recently, was caught on camera dancing energetically to Kendrick Lamar's diss track aimed at Drake during one of his recent performances in the Sin City. The video quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans.
While many cheered T-Pain's dance routine, it upset some Drake devotees who felt it was a slight against their favorite artist. Social media erupted with backlash, forcing T-Pain to address the issue publicly. In a tweet, he jokingly wrote, "Welp! You heard it here first folks. Don't drunk dance in a robe. Somehow it's a political statement now."
He suggested the reactions were somewhat disproportionate given that the song "Not Like Us" produced by Mustard is irresistibly catchy. He emphasized focusing on the fun aspect of music rather than the drama, "[Please] don't let somebody else's beef kill y'all's fun. Let [people] dance PLEASE!! Mustard killed that f***ing beat tho. It'd be pretty weird if you didn't dance to it," he added.
Some of T-Pain's audience members at his Las Vegas concert agreed with him, saying it's virtually impossible not to move when the song plays. One fan commented, "It was lit last night, played kdot song about 5x lol," while another chimed in, "he was hittin that s*** tho."
As a seasoned performer, T-Pain understands the infectious nature of a good beat, regardless of the underlying rivalries. The Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud has divided fans passionately, and T-Pain's enjoyment of the music appears to have been misunderstood as taking sides.
This isn't the first time T-Pain has intersected with Drake's world. In 2023, during an episode of his "Nappy Boy Radio" podcast, T-Pain addressed Drake's musical style, dubbing him the new leader of the "simping" music movement.
Despite the backlash, T-Pain continues to enjoy his Mansion In Wiscansin Party Tour, a festive series of performances highlighting his enduring appeal. He is also slated to join Pitbull for the Party After Dark Tour later this year, proving that no internet controversy can hinder his vibrant stage presence.
