Upon catching wind of the post, some Internet users are not impressed by Katy's gesture with one of them calling the 'Fireworks' singer 'rude' and a cornball.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry had a rather unique way to celebrate her last night of "American Idol". In a video taken from "American Idol" season 22 finale, the "Dark Horse" hitmaker was seen throwing pizza into the crowd.

For the night, Katy wore a gold corset top by Grace Ling Couture with strings at the back and a white midi skirt. The "Fireworks" singer showed the pizza to the camera before she threw it to the audience section.

While some of the audience members tried to catch the pizza slice, no one managed to catch it as it fell to the ground. The mom of one could be seen dancing after throwing the pizza away.

Upon catching wind of the post, some Internet users were not impressed. "So rude," one said. "That's so gross," another critic said. Someone else commented, "She is such a [corn and ball emojis]. Has been." One other wrote, "I would've thrown it back."

Season 22 will be the final season featuring Katy as one of the judges. The 39-year-old was joined by her fiance Orlando Bloom when attending the "American Idol" season finale afterparty in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 19.

She donned a nude asymmetric corset decorated in rhinestones and a matching draped skirt with a side slit and gold strappy heels. As for Orlando, the "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" star wore a black and white varsity jacket, white T-shirt and dark blue jeans.

Katy announced back in February that she's leaving the long-running singing competition show after serving as its judge for 7 seasons. "This fall, in September, I'm going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio... so I think this will probably be my last season for 'Idol'," she said during her appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!".

The mom of one went on to say, "I mean, I love 'Idol' so much. It's connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat." When asked about how fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie reacted to her departure, Katy simply said, "Well, they'll find out tonight!"
