In a new interview, the 26-year-old singer, whose real name is Mariah Amani Buckles, describes how she felt the need to put in even more effort than she already was to win people over.

AceShowbiz - Mariah the Scientist's journey to where she's at now didn't go smoothly. In a new interview, the singer admitted that she felt bullied at the beginning of her tour.

"I think in the beginning, I didn't totally know what I was doing," the 26-year-old explained when speaking to Billboard. "Even if I liked music or liked to sing, I never looked at it as if it was gonna be my career. From the starting point I had no idea what I was doing."

Mariah went on, "Do I feel like I was a little bullied?" She then noted, "I just feel like people weren't that open to knowing the story they just ran off with pieces of information without knowing or lack thereof when it comes to me seeing, growing up and doing that."

I just had to work overtime to make it right in real time because I didn't have that experience," Young Thug's longtime love continued. "Now I have it and it’s way better."

Throughout her career, Mariah has been the target of various bullying campaigns, though the bullying attempts didn't always have to do with her performance ability. Earlier this year, Pooh Shiesty took aim at the singer over her comments about the challenges of dating someone in jail.

"S**t simple h*e," the rapper argued. "It get all bad in that pen it ain't promised we talk every day mf locked down 6 months straight, move around if this ain't for you this what come with it!"

Shiesty's post was then removed from Instagram for violation. Upset by the removal, the MC fumed, "Sensitive black feet dic eating a** h*es mane f**k out my dm f**k you and yo n***a in jail hope they run his a** up, f**k everybody I'm otw back."
