While the 'Better Call Saul' star denies speculation that he'll play Professor X, fans would love to see the 66-year-old actor replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

AceShowbiz - Giancarlo Esposito is joining Marvel Cinematic Universe in one of its upcoming movies. The actor has officially confirmed that he'll be making his debut in the MCU, hinting at his secret role.

At a recent panel on the Thunder Stage at CCXP, the 66-year-old revealed that he will be appearing in a Marvel project, but not in the role many fans have touted him to play. The "Breaking Bad" alum was fan cast as Professor X in ramblings about mutants making their way into the MCU, but he has denied it, according to Collider.

Esposito said he'll play a different character, teasing that it's coming "sooner than later." He went on claiming that his role is "better than you can imagine."

With Esposito's role being kept under tight wraps, fans have thrown another character that the actor possibly steps into the shoes of. Many would love to see him replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

"definitely replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang… lets gooo," a fan speculated on X, formerly known as Twitter. Agreeing, a second fan replied, "him as kang would be perfection he usually plays serious characters."

Another responded to the initial tweet, "Would be sick." A fourth user claimed, "This would actually work," while someone else remarked, "That would be amazing."

Majors appeared as Kang in 2023's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" that reportedly would set him for a bigger role in a future Marvel movie. However, he was fired by Marvel in December 2023 after he was found guilty of harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

As for Esposito, he is best known for portraying Gus Fring on AMC's crime drama series "Breaking Bad" from 2009 to 2011. He reprised the role on its prequel series"Better Call Saul" from 2017 to 2022. For this role, he won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (2012) and earned three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Asides from this role, he has appeared on ABC's "Once Upon a Time", Amazon's "The Boys" and Disney+'s "The Mandalorian". He also starred in Spike Lee's films such as "Mo' Better Blues" (1990) and "Malcolm X" (1992).
