'RHOSLC' Cast 'Grossed Out' by Mary Cosby's R-Word Remark on Lisa Barlow's Son During 'Crazy Fight'

Mary allegedly calls her castmate's 12-year-old son the R-word slur in a heated argument amid production for 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' season 5.

AceShowbiz - Things appear to get nasty during the filming of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" season 5. Mary Cosby has reportedly done the unthinkable by using the R-word in a heated argument, leaving her castmates perturbed.

Sources tell Page Six that Mary called Lisa Barlow's 12-year-old son Henry the R-word slur during a "crazy fight" that took place between the women during the filming earlier this month. The entire cast, including Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks and Angie Katsanevas, "was beyond grossed out" by Mary's alleged use of the slur, one of the sources explains.

Another insider says that Lisa, who shares Henry and his older sibling Jack with husband John Barlow, was "very upset" with Mary for the alleged insult at her son. However, they seem to have made amends as a third source claims that the two ladies are currently filming for a cast trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. "They made amends over the situation and are moving on," the so-called insider shares.

It's unclear what prompted Mary to verbally attack Lisa's youngest child and it's unknown if the incident will make it to air when "RHOSLC" returns for the new season on Bravo. The network has not commented on report about the incident.

While Mary's alleged use of slur for Lisa's son is unacceptable, fans of the reality TV series may not be surprised by her choice of words. She is no stranger to making off-color comments on camera.

In season 2 of "RHOSLC" which aired in 2021, Mary called convicted fraudster Jen Shah a "Mexican thug" before the latter was incarcerated for wire fraud and money laundering. She then apologized to Jen, who is of Tongan and Hawaiian descent, through her Instagram Story.

"I would like to take this opportunity to address a comment I made on the last episode of 'RHOSLC.' I used poor judgment in my choice of words. Please accept my apologies," the 51-year-old wrote at the time. "I was not trying to single out the Mexican culture. I am African American and I know racism first hand," she continued her statement, acknowledging that her words were "reckless."
