AceShowbiz - Being single doesn't stop celebrities from having children. It's actually not uncommon for stars to embrace parenthood even without partners as they welcomed kids via adoption, surrogacy and IVF.
Some celebrities decided to have kids after their divorces from their respective spouses. Some others, meanwhile, didn't hesitate to be single parents despite being in their 40s or 50s.

1. Meg Ryan
Meg Ryan decided to expand her little family. The actress, who welcomed son, Jack, in 1992 while married to Dennis Quaid, adopted a girl from China named Daisy in 2006 after splitting from Dennis. At the time, Daisy was only 2 years old.
2. Natalie Imbruglia
Turning to IVF and a sperm donor, Natalie Imbruglia welcomed son Max Valentine in October 2019. The "Torn" singer celebrated the arrival of her bundle of joy, writing on Instagram, "Welcome to the world.. Max Valentine Imbruglia. My heart is bursting."
3. Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock became a single parent after she divorced Jesse James. The "Bird Box" actress adopted her first child, son Louis, in 2010. One child apparently wasn't enough for her as she adopted daughter Laila five years later.
4. Kristin Davis
Kristin Davis drew inspiration from her "Sex and the City" character Charlotte. Following in Charlotte's footsteps, Kristin adopted a little girl called Gemma in 2011. The actress, who has never been married, further embraced parenthood by adopting her second child, a son, in 2018.
5. Lucy Liu
Lucy Liu welcomed son Rockwell Lloyd via gestational surrogacy in 2020 as a single mom. Of the reason why she chose surrogacy, the "Elementary" actress said, "It just seemed like the right option for me because I was working and I didn't know when I was going to be able to stop. I decided that was probably the best solution for me, and it turned out to be great."
6. Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin is a single dad to his twin boys, Matteo and Valentino, who were born to a surrogate in August 2008. His love for kids is so big that he later welcomed daughter Lucia in 2018 via surrogate, before son Renn joined the family in 2020.
7. Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron might not find marriage important, but she's always wanted to have kids. The "Mad Max" actress adopted her first child Jackson from South Africa in 2012. Later in July 2015, she welcomed her second child, daughter August, from America via adoption.
8. Connie Britton
Connie Britton's adoption journey is not all about rainbows. After her parents sadly died within three years of each other, "The White Lotus" actress was determined to build a family for herself. She decided to adopt her son Yoby from Ethiopia as a single mom in November 2011 when she was 44 years old.
9. Edie Falco
Edie Falco started her own family even without a partner. "The Soprano" actress adopted two children, Anderson in 2005 and Macy in 2008, as a single mom. Of her decision to adopt children, she told Us Weekly, "At that time I was single and the idea to adopt came to me. I just knew at a certain point it was time to raise kids."
10. Diane Keaton
Diane Keaton is a proud single mom. Being single didn't stop "The Annie Hall" star to have children. The actress adopted two children, daughter Dexter, 28, and son Duke, 24, when she was in her 50s. In an interview, Diane admitted that "nothing has more meaning for me in my life than my kids."
11. Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow entered parenthood after splitting from ex-husband Lance Armstrong. The "All I Wanna Do" singer first adopted son Wyatt as a newborn in 2007, before adopting Levi in 2010. In 2017, Sheryl claimed that adopting her boys has "just been the biggest everlasting event that has informed everything - and really for the better."
12. Andy Cohen
Andy Cohen welcomed his two kids via surrogate. The "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" host's son Benjamin Allen was born in April 2019. He welcomed his second child, daughter Lucy, also via surrogate three years later.
13. Madonna
In addition to her biological daughter Lourdes and son Rocco, Madonna shares her love with four adopted children. The iconic pop star, who adopted two children named David and Mercy from Malawi in Africa when she was still married to Guy Ritchie, decided to adopt more kids after her 2008 divorce with Guy. The musician welcomed a pair of twins, Stella and Esther, from the same country as a single parent in 2018.
