The 'John Wick' actor is confirmed to be the latest addition to the starry voiceover cast of the upcoming third installment of 'Sonic the Hedgehog' adaptation.

AceShowbiz - Keanu Reeves, renowned for his action-packed roles, will join the voiceover cast of "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" as the enigmatic character Shadow.

According to Hollywood Reporter and Variety, Shadow is a darker and more sinister superheroic hedgehog compared to the titular Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles the Echidna. Jim Carrey reprises his role as Professor Gerald Robotnik, who created Shadow.

CinemaCon 2024 attendees in Las Vegas witnessed a brief teaser that hinted at Shadow's creation and his epic battle with Sonic. This marks Reeves' latest voiceover role after lending his voice to "Keanu," "Toy Story 4," and "DC League of Super-Pets."

In "Sonic the Hedgehog 3," Ben Schwartz and Idris Elba return as the voices of Sonic and Knuckles, respectively. Jeff Fowler directs the film, which also stars James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Tom Butler.

Reeves' casting comes amidst his packed schedule, which includes reprising his role as John Wick in "Ballerina" and starring in Aziz Ansari's "Good Fortune." As a producer, he is also bringing the comic book series "BRZRKR" to both a big-screen adaptation and an anime series.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is slated for a December 20, 2024 release.
