While passionately defending drag shows on social media, the 'My Church' singer insists the one she took her little son to was 'completely family-friendly.'

AceShowbiz - Maren Morris, the 34-year-old singer-songwriter, is speaking out in support of drag entertainers after receiving criticism for taking her 4-year-old son to a drag show.

During an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Morris emphasized that the drag show she attended was family-friendly. "It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly," she explained. "We were doing a benefit last year when they were doing the drag ban in Tennessee."

Morris later took to Instagram to respond to a critic who condemned her support for drag shows involving children. "Enough with taking children to drag shows!" the commenter wrote. "Children are sweet and innocent and don't need sexual anything rubbed in their little faces!"

In her response, Morris defended drag as a centuries-old performance art. "If you're making the 'exposure to children' argument, there are a lot of gowns in Catholicism, makeup and powdered wigs in theatre historically worn by only men."

"Drag is centuries-long performance art and some drag is only for adults. The performance I referenced in this interview was a charity all-ages show to protest the unlawful drag ban in Tennessee that was rightfully overturned."

Morris emphasized that while she supports the right of adults to engage in drag, she believes that it is inappropriate for minors to be exposed to sexually explicit drag performances. She also noted that she would not take her children to any show that she deemed inappropriate, regardless of the performer's sexual orientation or gender identity.
