As Kate is focusing on her cancer treatment, the Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to skip the annual Easter church service at St. George's Chapel in Windsor.

AceShowbiz - Prince William is the support system for his wife Kate Middleton after she was diagnosed with cancer. According to a new report, the Prince of Wales continues to be by Kate's side amid the difficult time.

"He is a very reliable, strong person," a longtime family friend revealed to PEOPLE. "She doesn't feel isolated in this because of William, who is right beside her."

The insider added, "This is about supporting her and her feeling supported. It is a joint effort. She doesn't feel isolated at all. The nuclear family that they have created so well is an immense support not only to him but to Catherine too."

In her video opening up about her health issues, Kate also called her husband "a great source of comfort and reassurance" as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy. "As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you," the Princess of Wales continued. "It means so much to us both."

As Kate is focusing on her cancer treatment, she and William decided to skip the annual Easter church service on Sunday, March 31. They were not seen joining other royal family members at St. George's Chapel in Windsor.

The couple's three children, Prince George (10). Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5), were also absent at the event. The family was expected to celebrate it privately at their Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk.

It's unknown when Kate will be back on duty amid her health problems, but the palace previously said she would be "unlikely to return to public duties" until after Easter. The Duchess of Cambridge was last seen during public engagement on Christmas 2023 when she attended the morning service with her family.

As for Prince William, his spokesperson claimed that he will continue to balance his work responsibilities and family life. "The Prince will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year," the spokesperson shared.
