The 'Happier Than Ever' singer has called A-list artists for releasing their albums in multiple different vinyl packaging, accusing them of caring more about number and money.

AceShowbiz - Grammy and Oscar winner Billie Eilish has criticized music industry giants for the excessive production of multiple vinyl versions of albums in different packaging, highlighting the negative environmental impact of this practice.

"Some of the biggest artists in the world [are] making f**king 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more," said the 22-year-old singer in an interview with Billboard. "It's so wasteful."

Eilish, who has long been a vocal advocate for sustainability, has taken steps to reduce the environmental footprint of her own music production. Her latest album, "Happier Than Ever", was released on eight different vinyl variants, but the singer ensured they were made from recycled materials and sustainable packaging.

She expressed frustration that other artists are not following suit, despite their massive influence. "It's irritating to me that we're still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money," she said. "And it's all your favorite artists doing that s***."

Eilish has also played a key role in promoting sustainable practices in the fashion industry. She convinced Oscar de la Renta to stop using animal fur, and advocates for the use of eco-friendly materials in clothing.

"What's more important: things being original or our kids being able to live on the planet and them having kids?" she asked.

Eilish's commitment to sustainability extends beyond her own projects. She helped launch and fund the Music Decarbonization Project, which aims to eliminate carbon emissions from the music industry.

"It's tough to be a person who loves fashion and also wants to be sustainable," she acknowledged. "But I try to be a big advocate for no animal products in clothing. People really like classic things, but our kids' future is more important."
