In Hollywood, he has starred in numerous hit films, including "Paper Soldiers" (2002), "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" (2005), and the "Jumanji" franchise, grossing over $4.23 billion globally.

The Mark Twain Prize recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to American humor, similar to the legendary Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens). Hart joins an esteemed list of previous honorees, including George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett, and Dave Chappelle.

"For over three decades, Kevin Hart has been a source of laughter across America and throughout the world," said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter. "He has made lasting contributions to the comedic landscape and represents our celebration of American humor."

Hart expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, "I've been doing comedy since the inception of this award 25 years ago. To be honored in this commemorative year feels surreal. As a recipient of the Mark Twain Prize, Hart will receive a bronze bust of Mark Twain sculpted by Karl Gerhardt. Previous honorees include Richard Pryor, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy, and Adam Sandler.
