When making an appearance on 'The View', the former Victoria's Secret Angel reveals that she suffered from 'severe depression and panic attacks' in her early 20s.

AceShowbiz - Gisele Bundchen has opened up about the impacts of her diet on her health. When making an appearance on "The View", the former Victoria's Secret Angel credited her healthy diet for curing her "severe" depression and panic attacks.

In the Thursday, March 21 episode of the TV program, the 43-year-old model responded to a statement about "the relationship [she] had with food was contributing to anxiety and depression and [she] felt like [she was] dying." She told co-hosts, "Well I had severe depression and panic attacks in my early 20s but I had no idea that it was correlated with my lifestyle and food, [that it] was a big part of it."

Gisele recalled, "I just, like, I felt very grateful that I had a job and I was traveling the world, and I wasn't really paying attention, you know? I was just like going, like 100 miles an hour, and until I started having severe panic attacks in my early 20s, and I didn't know what to do, and it's been over a year and a half, and I was going to all these specialists."

The beauty blonde went on to share, "I found this amazing naturopath and he said to me, 'Gisele, we have to change your diet.' And I said, 'Diet? What does that have to do with my panic attacks?' And he's like, 'No, it has everything to do with it.' "

Gisele further said, "After having a year and a half of, like I would say, one of the worst times in my life, I changed, I became a different person, I started practicing meditation, I started practicing yoga, I started practicing breath work." She added that "it was the first time [she] started experiencing with food."

Gisele revealed that she has been paying attention to what she eats since then and it leads to her creating her "healthy lifestyle cookbook" titled "Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul". The book is set to hit bookshelves on March 26.
