The lawyers blast the 'Late Show With Stephen Colbert' host over his jokes about Marchioness of Cholmondeley's alleged affair with Prince William in an episode of his show.

AceShowbiz - Rose Hanbury's lawyers reportedly sent notice to late night host Stephen Colbert. The lawyers blasted "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" host over his jokes about her alleged affair with Prince William in an episode.

In a statement to In Touch Weekly, Rose's legal team said, "The rumor appears to have entered into the mainstream media recently as a result of another joke made about it on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'." The statement continued, "We have written on our client's behalf to CBS and various other reputable media organizations to confirm that the allegation is false."

The notice came after Stephen brought up the rumors that William cheated on wife Kate Middleton with Rose when Kate was pregnant with her third child Prince Louis on his show. "My heart goes out to poor Kate," he said in the March 12 episode, fueling the infidelity rumors.

"The kingdom has been all a flutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton," the 59-year-old comedian said. "Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband and the future King of England William having an affair. So, I think we all know who the alleged other woman is. Say it with me - the Marchioness of Cholmondeley - what a beautiful name!"

Making fun of Rose's name and title, Stephen joked, "Now, there have been rumors [of] an affair between William and the Marching Band of Chicanery since 2019. According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating." He added in a fake British accent, "Ha ha, imagine me having an affair! It is to laugh."

A few days after the episode, Rose addressed rumors alleging an extramarital affair with Prince William for the first time. She labeled the claims "completely false," dismissing the claims as "hurtful" and "false."
