Despite the ups and downs in her marriage to the Oscar winner, the 'Girls Trip' actress notes that she's still grateful to have the actor as her life partner.

AceShowbiz - Jada Pinkett Smith's marriage to Will Smith may not be perfect, but she wants daughter Willow Smith to have a relationship like theirs. The "Girls Trip" star explained the reason why when appearing in the Thursday, February 29 episode of "PRETTYSMART".

When host Danielle Robay asked if her relationship is "one you would want for Willow," the 52-year-old replied, "If it's going to help her become the woman I'm becoming, yes." She acknowledged that her romance with Will is not a "fairy tale," but they are together for the long haul.

"Marriage is not a fairy tale. It's not. It's devastating and I fought, and I screamed, and I scratched for a long time," the actress stressed. "As much as Will and I have tried to get away from each other, it's not happening."

Jada went on to note that she's still grateful to have Will as her life partner. "To know that I have someone by my side that, no matter what, is dedicated to learning how to love and learning how to love me, and vice versa, I don't know what else you could ask for," she stated.

In 2023, Jada shocked everyone by revealing that she and Will had been separated since 2016, but had no intention to divorce. She later confirmed that they reconciled after the Oscar incident where Will slapped Chris Rock, though she refused to call their relationship "marriage."

In November, during her appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show", the "Red Table Talk" host declared that she will never be leaving Will. "We're staying together forever," she said. The actress then seemed to suggest that their attempts to live separately have been unsuccessful. The Hollywood star said, "I tried. We tried."

In December, the 52-year-old mom of two said that she won't divorce Will even if they find new love. "We are both getting older. And besides, we've been together 30 years so, even if someone new came along, neither of us is going anywhere. We are a family that needs to look out for one another and always will be. Sometimes it takes a crisis for you to see that," she said to The Mail On Sunday's You Magazine.
