AceShowbiz - Rod Stewart isn't a fan of Ed Sheeran and he doesn't have a problem in making it clear. In a new interview with The Times, the "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" icon said the "Photograph" hitmaker won't likely to stand the test of time.

The 79-year-old dissed the "Perfect" crooner when he was asked if he thinks musicians are still producing timeless songs today. In response, he said, "I'm sure they are," before making a reference to his own 1971 hit, "You mean like 'Maggie May'? Songs that will be played in 50 years?"

"I like whatshisname," Rod continued, forgetting a certain artist's name. "Oh f**king great, Rod. Well done. He's British, really talented and his songs will be around."

The Times reporter asked if he was looking to recall Ed's name. Rod, however, was quick to shut it down by saying, "No, not Ed, I don't know any of his songs, old ginger bollocks. Jesus." The British rock and pop singer was still trying to remember another artist's name.

Rod then started singing the lyrics, "I'll be riding shotgun," which the journalist recognized as George Ezra's 2018 hit "Shotgun." He then exclaimed, "Yes! I think he writes really tremendous songs... He'll be around for quite a while."

Elsewhere in the interview, the former "Faces" member spoke about why he thinks striving for success as a musician is a different beast today than it was when he debuted in the 1960s. "We were brave in those days to go into the music business," he shared. "We didn't know where it would take us but record companies were different. They would give you a try."

Ed, for his part, has yet to respond to Rod's diss.
