AceShowbiz - Hoda Kotb weighed in on the bombshell trailer for Wendy Williams' documentary series on Lifetime. In a new episode of "Today with Hoda and Jenna", the TV anchor admitted that her heart was heavy when watching the footage.

"I have to tell you, I did see some of this Wendy Williams documentary, just a clip, and it made me sad to watch it," Kotb shared in the Tuesday, February 6 pisode of the morning talk show. She added that it's "heartbreaking" because she's "known Wendy for many years."

After the trailer for "Where Is Wendy Williams?" was played as part of their "Scoop" segment, guest Justin Sylvester pointed out that Wendy was "involved" in the making of it to "tell her side of the story." Hoda then said, "Yeah, I mean I think we're just cheering her on."

She further shared, "You just want her to be healthy and happy, and it's hard to watch her in that state, but we hope the best for her."

The trailer saw the former radio personality grappling with substance abuse and financial issues. "I have no money," she said. "I'm going to tell you something - if it happens to me, it could happen to you."

Wendy could be seen breaking into tears as she said, "I miss my family." The footage also saw Wendy's sister Wanda and son Kevin Hunter, Jr. talking about Wendy's guardianship.

"Everybody could look at her and tell that this is not just alcohol. There's something more going on," Wanda opined. Kevin, meanwhile, blamed people surrounding his mom for doing nothing and allowing her alcoholism to continue.

"I feel like the guardian has not done a good job in protecting my mom," he said. Her sister additionally insisted that her family should be the one taking care of the New York native.

"Where Is Wendy Williams?" is set to arrive on Lifetime on February 24 and 25.
