In a new statement by Buckingham Palace, it was revealed that the 75-year-old British monarch, who recently underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate, has been diagnosed with a 'form of cancer.'

AceShowbiz - King Charles' shocking cancer diagnosis may bring change to the relationship between his sons. While Prince Harry has yet to speak to Prince William regarding their father's health issues, a source believes that the situation can force the estranged siblings to have an uneasy truce.

The well-placed palace source tells Page Six, "Is this the point where Harry gets to swoop in and be magnanimous and reach out to William?" It should be noted that since the brothers were brought up by their mother, Princess Diana, to be a double act, Harry is meant to be William's trusted advisor once the latter eventually becomes king.

Recently, it's said that Harry is set to fly to the U.K. on Monday, February 5 to spend some time with Charles after he was diagnosed with cancer. Harry allegedly would take a solo trip to his home country as his wife Meghan Markle would stay home in Montecito with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Buckingham Palace announced King Charles' cancer diagnosis in a statement on Monday. The statement read, "During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."

It continued, "His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual."

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," the statement added, before concluding, "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
