An organized band of thieves allegedly invades the couple's neighborhood in Montecito while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying their Jamaican trip.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may need to increase the security for their home in Montecito, California. According to a new report, an organized band of thieves invaded their neighborhood while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying their Jamaican trip.

DailyMail claimed that the thieves broke into an estate about five minutes from their $15 million royal compound on Wednesday, January 24. Their neighborhood, where Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are also residing, was issued an alarming alert from Santa Barbara County Sheriff officer Rachel Zick.

Community group The Montecito Association, meanwhile, offered tips on home security. It was further noted that the criminals were trying to steal a safe containing cash and/or other valuables, though it remains to be seen if they succeeded.

"In the past week, deputies have taken several burglary reports with notable similarities in the resident layouts, times of occurrence and items taken," the officer's message read at the time. "In these burglaries, criminals target unoccupied residences that back up to open spaces such as golf courses as well as creeks, streams or the ocean. Investigators have noted most of these crimes tend to occur between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M."

It continued, "The most recent burglaries occurred on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the 1500-block of Las Tunas in Montecito, and two in the 800- block of Sand Point Lane, Carpinteria. The suspect(s) in these cases are targeting safes."

This wasn't the first time Harry and Meghan faced a security scare at their California estate. Back in July 2022, they had six break-in alerts in the first 14 months of the royals' move to America. The couple, however, has one of the best individuals in their security team as it includes Christopher Sanchez and Christopher Keenan, who previously protected Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton respectively.

The security warning came when Harry and Meghan were in Jamaica. The Sussexes made a surprise appearance when attending the premiere of "Bob Marley: One Love" which centered on music legend Bob Marley.

At the January 23 event at the Carib Theatre in Kingston, Jamaica, the pair walked the red carpet hand-in-hand as the former actress flashed her radiant smile. They happily posed with members of the late reggae artist's family with Harry sweetly placing his hand on his wife's back.

For the screening, the former star of "Suits" opted for a chic look in a black dress with spaghetti straps and a voluminous skirt. She completed her style with a black clutch and gold earrings while her hair was styled in a sleek updo. As for her husband, the British royal looked dapper in a blue suit and white button-down without a tie.
