AceShowbiz - Sofia Vergara has come clean about the reason of her split from Joe Manganiello. In a new interview, the "Modern Family" alum admitted that her refusal to be an "old mom" led to the end of their seven-year marriage.

Speaking to El Pais, the 51-year-old revealed that the former "True Blood" star wanted to have kids, while she thinks it wouldn't be "fair to the baby." She told the outlet, "Well, I'm newly divorced from my second husband [actor Joe Manganiello], who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn't want to be an old mom. I feel it's not fair to the baby."

Stressing that it's not a shade to other women who become mothers in their later years, Sofia added, "I respect whoever does it, but that's not for me anymore." She divulged, "I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I'm ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children."

"I'm almost in menopause; it's the natural way of things," the "Griselda" star, who shares son Manolo with her first husband Joe Gonzalez, went on reasoning. "When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I'll give it back to him and go on with my life; that's what I have to do."

Sofia and Joe announced their split and plans to divorce in July 2023. Their divorce was finalized in September.

Following their split, Sofia has been rumored to be romantically linked to orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. The pair were first spotted together while having dinner in Beverly Hills, California back in October. They have been since seen on several outings together and recently celebrated Christmas Eve together with her loved ones.

However, the Colombia-born actress told HELLO! magazine that she isn't that desperate for a new boyfriend in the wake of her divorce. "I don't feel as though I need a man. I want one, but I don't need one," the Hollywood star insisted.
