The former star of 'Friends' was accused of twisting the American civil rights movement leader's words after posting a video of MLK supporting the existence of Israel.

AceShowbiz - Michael Rapaport has landed in hot water for dragging Martin Luther King Jr.'s name when weighing on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The "Friends" alum was accused of twisting the American civil rights movement leader's words after posting a video of MLK supporting the existence of Israel.

In the caption of the post, the 53-year-old wrote, "CANCEL THIS ZIONIST TODAY!!!!" He added, "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a #ZIONIST & there's no doubt he would be cancelled if he was alive today!!!"

"ZIONISIM is very very simple, it SIMPLY means that you think/believe that ISRAEL has the right to exist. Period," he continued. "It just sounds EXOTIC. Are you a ZIONIST???"

Many have since reacted to Michael's post. "I seriously doubt that MLK would be down with killing innocent civilians on either side for any reason," one person argued. Another fumed, "Bro SHAME ON YOU! Your a** should be cancelled, everything you put out has hate in it one way or the other."

A third asked, "Do you REALLY think that Dr. King would support the murder of thousands of children? The deliberate use of imprecise weaponry meant to maximize death and destruction?" The individual then added, "You haven't heard a word Dr. King has said."

"This is disgusting. I really didn't think you could sink any lower. This is typical, using this man's good name to twist it in your favor," someone else argued. "Yes Israel has the right to exist as well as Palestine and it's ppl. They fact that most of your supporters can't understand that yes, Israel has the right to defend themselves but they need to do it in a way that minimizes civilian casualties is the real problem here."
