AceShowbiz - Kieran Culkin has taken care of his mother amid her health problems. The actor portraying Roman Roy on "Succession" was revealed to have helped Patricia Brentrups with her doctor appointments after he showered her with praise at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
On Tuesday, January 16, Kieran's stepfather and Patricia's husband named Mart Cox spilled to Page Six that she "spent a few months before the holidays" at Kieran's house in Brooklyn, where the 41-year-old actor lives with his wife Jazz Charton and their children, 4-year-old daughter Kinsey "Zissou" Sioux and 2-year-old son Wilder Wolf. Mart went on to say, "Kieran was looking after her and she was going to doctors in the city."
While making a reference to Kieran's siblings, including actor Macaulay Culkin, Mart explained, "All the kids have been very helpful, oh for sure. Just from Patty, they have a lot of love in them, she is an incredible woman."
About Kieran's career, Mart stated, "We certainly are proud of Kieran and we're really happy life is just beginning for him. But we have nine kids and we love them all. None ever gets more love than the other. That's how their mom raised them." Mart further joked, "Although Kieran always thought he was the favorite!"
The revelation came shortly after Kieran thanked his 69-year-old mother Patricia at the 75th annual Emmy Awards. On Monday night, January 15, he won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series accolade. During his acceptance speech, he voiced his appreciation for his fellow "Succession" castmates and the series' filmmakers before praising his mother.
While getting emotional, Kieran stated, "I've got to switch to the personal really fast. I have to thank my mom for giving me life, my childhood, which was great. So thank you for that." In contrast, he snubbed his estranged father Kit Culkin.
Not stopping there, Kieran also talked about Patricia backstage. "She's just an absolutely wonderful woman who took on raising seven kids in a studio apartment, by herself," he gushed. He later added, "There was a guy there, he didn't do anything," while referring to Kit.
